Japanese Season

Friends,
For our sixth season we leave the "countries" model behind to further innovate our storytelling and explode the envelope of live performance. We've chosen two 20th century classics about families followed by two new political thrillers in what we're sure will be enlightening juxtapositions:

GLASS

Adapted from Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, this new telling overlays J.D. Salinger's Glass family with the Wingfields. Two of the mid-20th century's greatest dysfunctional families bring firepower and grace to this re-imagined modern classic in the style of Little Green Pig's Three Sisters (On Ice) and A Streetcar Named Desire.

Featuring Jennifer Evans, Jane Holding, John Jimerson & Trevor Johnson. Stage Managed by Shelby Hahn. Designed by Jeff Alguire, Nick Karner, Chelsea Kurtzman & Jay O'Berski.

Directed by Jay O'Berski.

September 8-24 at Common Ground Theatre

FOL27

THE BIRTHDAY PARTY

By Harold Pinter

Kafka comes home to roost in a gripping, uptight celebration that seemingly does not in fact occur on someone's birthday. As it turns out: psychological terrorism can be hilarious.

Featuring Jeffrey Detwiler, Lenore Field, Derrick Ivey, Jay O'Berski, Dana Marks & Dan Sipp. Stage Managed by Jennifer Evans. Designed by Sonya Drum, Chelsea Kurtzman & Steve Tell.
Directed by Jody McAuliffe.

November 3-12 at Common Ground Theatre

DONALD

Adapted by Tony Perucci from the novel by Eric Martin & Stephen Elliott

What if a former US defense secretary who condoned the use of torture to extract information was himself extremely rendered and tortured by his own methods? By turns comic and harrowing, Donald is a beautiful, disturbing mediation on what to do with "war criminals" even if they could be brought to "justice".

Featuring Jeffrey Detwiler, J Evarts, Dana Marks, Rajeev Rajendran, Lucius Robinson & Jay O'Berski. Stage Managed by Shelby Hahn. Designed by Alex Maness, Dana Marks & Rick Young.
Directed by Tony Perucci.

January 26-February 11, 2012, at Manbites Dog
